Heart Space


After the deep work of the "holidays" it was time to open our hearts and allow healing to usher us into the new year.  
Thank you for making yourselves available, vulnerable and courageous to do the significant work of Living.

The heart is where I reside – the green middle earth, between watery depths and airy heights. Anchoring and freeing us. 

Arrive. Stand in the heart. Speak from the heart.

Comes The Dawn

After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning
And company doesn’t mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts
And presents aren’t promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today,
Because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong,
And you really do have worth.
And you learn and learn...
With every goodbye you learn.

Kum Nye: Opening the Heart exercise 
Sit cross legged.
Lean back on the left hand, right hand to right ear, elbow up, open up the right side of the body like a fan. Hold.
Slowly move to the other side.

Yoga: Pawanmuktasana part I – gentle joint rotations. 
Freeing stale energy trapped in the joints thereby allowing a lighter, more fluid approach to life.

Make: shaved chalk pastel manifestation of the heart space.
Observe carefully, express what you see from the "I am..." 
Free write and distill a short message or love letter to yourself. 

Yoga Nidra: Alternate nostril breathing, progressive relaxation and guided visualisation.
