Flow Live -- Surviving COVID-19 in South Africa

The things we do to survive these mad mad times.
Here are the Facebook Live Flow sessions I've been offering thrice weekly to keep myself going and hopefully help others along the way.

It is NOT easy to put yourself out there when you're struggling to make sense of a world gone mad(der) while suddenly homeschooling and trying to keep what little paid work you might still be lucky enough to have afloat. But if you're keen to breathe, move and meditate together I really do feel that it helps quell the almost unrelenting anxiety or however you find yourself in these strange days.

The very first Flow Live includes shamanic shaking, tapping, EFT, Qi gong, yin yoga, pranayama, all the simple good things that help me feel a bit better:

Third Flow Live in which we discuss how Heart/Fire energy manifests in the body both in excess and in deficiency. If you want to read more: http://charisselouw.blogspot.com/2018... If you'd like to see my head (cut off for a section in this edit) please visit the Facebook Live version below :) https://www.facebook.com/groups/44052...

Fourth Flow Live - addressing Fear in the Body with reference to Alexander Technique, TCM, yoga, mantra, trataka 🕯 & yoga nidra ... simple techniques that really do help in these anxiety riddled times. Here’s a blogpost written during a different time but still applicable http://charisselouw.blogspot.com/2018... https://www.facebook.com/groups/44052...

Fifth Flow Live including the Water Blessing https://charisselouw.blogspot.com/2018/05/water.html the Yi Jin Jing or Tendon Stretching Qi Gong Form
(I have it broken down into 9 parts here: https://www.facebook.com/GoFlow42/posts/763161800877924)
a bit of gentle yin yoga stretching
and chanting Om Namo Narayanaya

Sixth Flow Live -- we enjoyed a gentle yin Qigong flow which includes tapping into neuro-lymphatic reflex points & yin massage. Then the 4-7-8 Breathing as popularised by Dr Andrew Weil. A wonderful antidote to anxiety. Remember to practice 4 rounds twice daily. Working up to no more than 8 rounds. We finished with Out-breath meditation. I offered to draw cards for my sweet peeps. If you'd like me to do the same for you, please just comment below and I'll private message you your inspiration. Much love and gentleness to you all.

We meet Tuesdays at 9am SAST, Thursdays 3pm SAST & Sundays 6pm SAST.

South Africa is 23 days into stringent Lockdown. This past week I helped distribute food parcels to the destitute in our neighbouring Masiphumelele where three weeks of no work equates to no food. The situation is dire so if you find yourself in a position to help I can recommend the following programmes all of whom I know and have worked with personally:

Living Hope
Feed Our Valley
Masi Creative Hub
Ukama Community Foundation
