Qi Gong Playshop

We enjoyed a beautiful few hours of connecting deeply with our true nature in playful and soulful community at our 5 Element Qi Gong Workshop held at the beautiful Center in Noordhoek.

Go within, go without ~ balance & transformation

There are three rules for Qi Gong/Life:

Qi is freely given, freely available and shared freely all over the ether which seems fitting.

The endless play of opposites

I just love this guy's energy for instance:

Dear Marissa of YoQi has a wealth of easy to follow feel-good qi gong flows that I can recommend.

She does a beautiful warm up here including the 6 healing sounds:

Then facilitates a good play with your qi or why not give this half hour sequence for beginners a go.

I promise it helps.

Life is a magical unfolding of opportunities.

Exactly three years prior to this beautiful gathering we met in Pretoria for my first Qi Gong workshop as I was en route to China to study Qi Gong -- I love synchronity -- a timely reminder that your life is part of the cycles of nature and that you can completely trust the timing.

Yesterday we started with some simple yet profoundly grounding and centering Qi gong.

Learning to look deeply and honour our energetic bodies is supremely important in living whole & well.

Feel your Qi

We then nurtured our Inner Smile, getting in touch with our organs and attendant emotions, using purging breaths to help us let go...breathing and smiling all the while. You'll find Lee Holden, a long time student of Mantak Chia, guiding you in our Playlist.

Personally I feel that all feelings are welcome (see Rumi below) - this is Mantak Chia's take

I urge everyone to practice the Inner Smile as often as possible. We made a commitment to each other to try for a minute every hour. And certainly at every red light.

Watch your world transform!

Under the gorgeous Heavens on a perfect Spring afternoon we practiced Master Liu De Ming's elegant Wu Xing or 5 Element Qi Gong. Remember to play. It's all for fun!

We harvested chi during our walking Qi Gong Practice and took our gifts to the page with a writing meditation.

It is such a treat to see what emerges when the mind takes a back seat to the process. I love hearing the surprised giggles and gasps of recognition. This group was so deliciously open hearted in their sharing. Thank you!

A wonderful tea time, with an opportunity to hug a tree or listen deeply to another human, who in turn is listening deeply to which words need to be planted in another. Thank you Carol Kiff Kitchen for the magic cookies.

We closed with the Liu Zi Jue or 6 Healing Breaths and some partner Qi Gong to remind us that we are not an isolated circuit of energy. We are always connected to everyone and everything.

What a wonderful world, where we are all here together shining so brightly, sharing our many gifts.

Our homework is threefold:

First to make something ~ to play with the elements ~ wood, metal, earth, fire & water. Make friends with them around you and within you. Enjoy your elemental embodiment. Living is a creative act.

Second to imbibe our Gratitude.  Write down three things you are profoundly grateful for. Place a glass of water over the words. Bless them. Drink them down. Live grateful!

And last but not least, to dance like no one's watching. I can recommend this track, I am Wild, from our playlist.

Here's our playlist, including some inspiring podcasts by wonderful Qi Gong Teachers:
