Silly Season Antidote: the present of presence

It's not quite mid-November and already the Christmas tack is out in all the shops. What's more, it's time for the 10 001 end-of-year functions that make up family life. So many gifts to give!
This lovely sentiment really resonated, what with our dear little planet drowning in all our plastic crap, and with people struggling so much to feel connected. I think it's easier for me to embrace since gifts are not my Love Language but even if you love giving or receiving a gift how about we think outside the box.

This year I'm giving my community the gift of Qi Gong. Both here in Noordhoek...

How about gifting someone with the most potent medicine yet, but don't take my word for it, read this report by Science on the wide ranging benefits of spending time in Nature.

Remember to give yourself the gift of presence. We're no good to anyone if we can't be with ourselves ever so tenderly.
Just look at the palm of your own dear hand. Goodness what a long path you've walked together and you'll be together until the end.
What a friend you have in yourself if you simply allow your heart to soften.

Much love now and always.

PS.
One of the best gifts I've given myself this year is listening to excellent podcasts. Here are just two particularly powerful ones that Oprah's Super Soul Conversations provided recently:

Larry Dossey on The Extraordinary Healing Power of Ordinary Things:

Pema Chodron on Welcoming the Unwelcome:
